After an extensive search, the NBHL Board agreed to hire Scott Sortal as an Assistant Hockey Director.  Scott will oversee the House League program, assist Rich with Skills and Goalie development, coach 2 travel teams and will work with all Mites through the Jr. Spartans program.

Scott grew up in the area and played for Wilmette, Team Illinois, New Trier Green and the Chicago Chill.  He continued to play at a Prep school out east, in the Eastern Junior Hockey League, USHL and the University of Vermont's Division I team.

Scott has coached for several local youth teams, several high school teams and at Lake Forest College for their Division III team.  He has been an educator at a middle school and two high schools in the Chicago area. Congratulations to Arika Osacky-Siegel Hockey Mom of the Year

Our very own Arika Osacky-Siegel, member of the NBHL Executive Board, Chicago United Hockey League Executive Board and President of the Northbrook Jr. Spartans, has been named Youth Hockey Mom of the Year by the Chicago Wolves.
Mother to three current (and one future!) Bluehawk Hockey players, Arika contributes her time and energy in many ways to make both the NBHL programs and the CUHL a better place for everyone. Her efforts were instrumental in both the creation of the Jr. Spartans and the CUHL.
Little did she realize that when her hockey playing husband Howard, asked her to “embrace”  their children’s involvement in hockey that she would jump “all in”.
Congratulations Arika….well deserved!
